At the exposition about David Hockney and van Gogh in the Van Goghmuseum, I was touched by a small drawing by Hockney of reed or grass. With a few lines he captured the essence of it, how they bend, move and how they relate to one another.
I wanted to look closer to these plants. They are humble in a sense that they are often overlooked, but before you know they take over the area. They are elegant when seen individually but it is interesting too how they are together a miniature jungle at the side of the road.
